Graham Phillips, Aaron Simon Gross, Allie Trimm, Eric Nelsen, Elizabeth Egan Gillies, Ashton Smallings, Kyle Crews, Alberto Calderon, Eamon Foley, Joey LaVarco, Ariana Grande, Caitlin Gann and Taylor Bright. Filmed during the shows pre-Broadway run at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT. Filmed in the orchestra section about fifteen feet away from the stage. Heads, seats and other random things in frame. Mostly a clear shot center stage with extreme sides obstructed with heads. Occasional cover-ups and some action not caught in frame. Not the best video, but what is captured is good, and you get a good sense of the show despite all the issues.

39 Steps 2009 Broadway
Arnie Burton, Charles Edwards, Jennifer Ferrin, Cliff Saunders. ?The 39 Steps is a play adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock. The play's concept calls for the entirety of the 1935 adventure film The 39 Steps to be performed nearly verbatim onstage, but with a cast of four. One actor plays the hero, Richard Hannay, an actress plays the three women whom he has romantic entanglements with, and two other actors play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women, children and even the occasional inanimate object. This often requires lighting fast quick changes and occasionally for them to play multiple characters at once. Thus the film's serious spy story is played mainly for laughs, and the script is full of allusions to other Alfred Hitchcock films, including Rear Window, Psycho and North by Northwest. Well filmed from the balcony.

50 Shades! The Musical ~ 1/16/15 ~ Off-Broadway
Starring: David Andino , Kaitlin Frotton , Chris Grace , Adam Hyndman , Tim Murray , Amber Petty , Casey Rogers , Alec Vargas , Ashley Ward , and Chloe Willin .
50 Shades! The Musical Parody is the sexy and hilarious send-up of Fifty Shades of Grey , the greatest novel EVER!
The show has audiences rolling on the floor, dancing in the aisles and BEGGING for more. Now it’s your turn to indulge in New York City’s guiltiest pleasure, featuring uninhibited performances, the dirtiest dancing and loads of BDSM ( Best Damn Songs and Music ).
Because the novel is notoriously thin on plot, “50 Shades!” beefs up the material with an amusing framing device: Three bored housewives are reading the novel in their book club.
We then meet the story’s main characters, starting with virginal Anastasia Steele. She falls hard for gorgeous billionaire Christian Grey, who wants to bring her into a BSDM relationship as his sex slave.
The fact that Grey doesn’t have a model’s good looks and sports some extra weight is the source of much of the script’s humor. According to the Playbill, the show runs “100 minutes (or approximately 69 minutes with intermission”). Filmed using one camcorder on a tripod with audio patched in from the soundboard. Because it was filmed in a small Off-Broadway theatre, there are heads in the bottom of the frame, but they don’t really get in the way .

Act One
Adapted for the stage by James Lapine.

Act One premiered on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater in Lincoln Center on March 20, 2014 (previews), officially on April 17, 2014. Directed by James Lapine , the cast features Santino Fontana , Tony Shalhoub (as George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart) and Andrea Martin .

An Act of God ~ 7/2015 ~ Broadway ~ Jim Parsons, Christopher Fitzgerald, Tim Kazurinsky
The New Broadway play from the creator of, well, everything.
Starring: Jim Parsons, Christopher Fitzgerald , and Tim Kazurinsky .
Excellent HD capture of this hilarious show. Jim did a terrific job as God and was such a fun show. Everything you ever wanted to know about God and his choices are answered here!
It takes the filmer approximately 7.5 minutes to "settle down" due to late comers and just "setting his focus"; however, audio is clear throughout. After that, there is only a 30-second blackout (audio is heard during this time) around the 20-minute mark Otherwise, it's beautifully filmed with a combination of close-ups and wide shots.
An Act of God - Starring Sean Hayes, David Josefsberg, and James Gleason ~ February 14, 2016
CAST: Sean Hayes as God, David Josefsberg as Michael, and James Gleason as Gabriel.
God takes the form of SEAN HAYES in AN ACT OF GOD , the sinfully funny and critically acclaimed new play where the Almighty and His devoted Angels answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since Creation. He’s returned to set the record straight… and He’s not holding back!
Written by God and transcribed by DAVID JAVERBAUM (“ The Daily Show ”), this hilarious 90-minute comedy is directed by JOE MANTELLO ( Wicked ).
Sean Hayes is absolutely hysterical as God. The show is full of great adlibs, one-liners, and recent pop-culture references, many of which are different from the original Broadway version.
This is a near perfect capture with no washout, no obstruction, and just one quick dropout. The show is 90-minutes with no intermission. It’s filmed in 16:9 with mostly close-ups and a few wider shots. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

A Life In The Theatre 11/16/10 Broadway
Patrick Stewart, T.R. Knight. Written by David Mamet. A Life in the Theatre is one of American playwright David Mamets early successes. Mamet was inspired to write A Life in the Theatre by what he had observed backstage as well as by his own experiences in his short, unsuccessful career as an actor. A Life in the Theatre made its premiere at the
at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, in February 1977. A slightly different, expanded version of the play debuted in an off- Broadway production in New York Citys Theatre de Lys in October 1977. Like American Buffalo-and like other Mamet plays to come-Life portrays a professional relationship, and a shifting balance of power, between an aging, less-than-successful veteran and an eager, often clumsy tyro. Like most Mamet characters, Robert (Mr. Stewart) and John (Mr. Knight) are not averse to the use of four-letter words. Describing life in the footlights from an actor's point of view, A Life in the Theatre focuses on the relationship between two thespians: Robert, an older, experienced performer; and John, a relative newcomer. Though Robert's guidance is welcomed by John at first, as the play progresses Robert falters as an actor and mentor, and John emerges as a mature actor. Nicely filmed from the balcony. A little dark, but nothing too bad. Disc also includes about 20 minutes of bonus footage, including a NY1 review, an interview with Patrick Stewart and T.R. Knight, and opening night coverage from Broadway Beat.

All the Way. HBO . Bryan Cranston, Melissa Leo , Bradley Whitford
All The Way offers a riveting behind-the scenes look at President Lyndon B. Johnson’s tumultuous first year in office after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Staking his presidency on what would be an historic unprecedented Civil Rights Act, Johnson finds himself caught between the moral imperative of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the expectations of the southern Democratic Party leaders who brought Johnson to power. As King battles to press Johnson while controlling more radical elements of the Civil Rights Movement, Johnson navigates the bill through Congress, winning a landslide victory against Barry Goldwater, but causing the South to defect from the Democratic Party.
Amadeus NTL (02.02.17) Lucian Msamati, Adam Gillen, Karla Crome
Starring: Lucian Msamati as Salieri • Adam Gillen as Mozrt •Karla Crome as Constanze • Sarah Amankwah • Hammed Animashaun • Geoffrey Beevers • Fleur de Bray • Tom Edden• Andrew Macbean • Alexandra Mathie • Eamonn Mulhal •Robyn Allegra Parton • Hugh Sachs • Eleanor Sutton • Wendy Dawn Thompson • Peter Willcock • Nicholas Gerard-Martin •Michael Lyle • and Everal A Walsh.
Lucian Msamati stars in an overwhelming production of Peter Shaffer's great play consisting of Music. Power. Jealousy.
The genius of Msamati’s performance is its restraint: he never goes full Bond villain, but sets about his business with brisk awkwardness, speaking in the stiff tones of a minor West African bureaucrat
There is much else that is great here, from Imogen Knight’s nifty choreography to the amusingly anachronistic flourishes of Chloe Lamford’s design (Mozart wears DMs, Salieri scoffs Dunkin Donuts) to a nicely laconic turn from Karla Crome as Mozart’s wife Constanze.

It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums and close-ups. The sound is excellent. The show runs 1 hour and 40 minutes with no intermission. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

AMOUR: THE VIRTUAL BROADWAY REVIVAL April 2021
Amour transports audiences to Paris' iconic and beautiful Montmartre neighborhood in 1950 through the medium of sung-through musical theatre. Complete with scenic elements, costumes, and props, this production isn't just a Zoom performance with backdrops added in. Instead, the assembled cast has all recorded their parts individually and through the magic of film editing, the videos have been assembled like a jigsaw puzzle to create a digital experience that evokes-to the best of its ability-a live performance on a Broadway stage with a cast of Broadway veterans.
Featuring music by Michel Legrand, a libretto by Didier van Cauwelaert, and an English adaptation by Jeremy Sams. Now, in a time where most of us have been held captive in our homes due to a global pandemic, this romantic fantasy seems rather timely. AMOUR tells the story of Dusoleil, an unassuming civil servant who discovers he can walk through walls. He uses this ability to improve the lives of his colleagues by giving bread, money, and jewels to members of the French middle class.

Part One is about 3 hours and 30 minutes , with two 15-minute intervals. Part Two (also available separately), is about 4 hours and 15 minutes with two 15-minute intervals. These pristine, pro-shot captures are beautiful and allow you a front-row seat to a spectacular drama.
Eight hours in a theatre is a daunting prospect, especially when the subject matter threatens to overwhelm you emotionally. Of course, this DVD set contains only Part One as Part Two is also available .
The acting is uniformly brilliant with Andrew Garfield in the lead role of AIDS sufferer Prior Walter. But the support he gets fromNathan Lane , in particular, is astounding. Core ensemble shout outs also have to go to the entire cast especially Denise Gough ,James McArdle , Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Russell Tovey .

An Evening With PATTI LuPONE
(1997) – 1 hour concert special as broadcast on PBS. Taped in January 1997 at the Callum Theatre in the Palm Desert Resort hotel, CA., includes sensational renditions of "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina," "Anything Goes," "I Get A Kick Out Of You," "As If We Never Said Goodbye," "Sleepy Man," "I Dreamed A Dream," "Heat Wave," and more... Recorded during a pledge drive, so concert is interrupted with breaks, but include Patti in the studio being interviewed, as well as trying to raise money. RARE BONUS: Clips of ANYTHING GOES from a bootleg with tons of close-ups! Bootlegged footage from 1988 Lincoln Center revival of ANYTHING GOES. This is NOT from the poor quality tape that has been circulating for years, but rather is completely different, newly surfaced footage! Very well filmed, with lots of great close ups, but some generational loss. Not the complete show, but about 40 minutes of musical highlights. This footage was discovered at the end of the above disc, so they are both on one DVD (About 90 minutes).

MY NAME IS BARBRA April 28, 1965 Hello, Gorgeous!...Pristine Print of this Fabulous and First Television Special Starring Barbra Streisand
On the evening of April 28, 1965, at 10:00 P.M. the American people were given their first long, close-up look at Barbra Streisand. They were enthralled and delighted by what they saw.
Rushing from set to set in a flowing gown singing " I'm Late ," cavorting in a hughley oversized playground as a five-year-old, joking with the audience during a monologue about a weird lady called " Pearl From Istanbul ," waltzing through Bergdoft Goodman's in assorted expensive outfits singing " Second Hand Rose " and finally performing in concert, Barbra proved herself to be one of the most exciting , talented performers in show business. MY NAME IS BARBRA created a sensation across the country as reviewers outdid each other in praising the show and its star. One critic called it "The classic hour of entertainment in any field." New York's JOURNAL-AMERICAN ran a front-page photo the following day, with the caption "Magnificent Barbra!"

Inconsistent capture. Act One is completely blindshot and stageshot, and starts out alright, but drifts upward as the act goes on and has an obstruction that covers a significant portion of the left side. Act Two is shot well. There is one large head on the center left side that sometimes blocks the action in both acts, but is worked around as best as possible in Act Two. There’s one blackout at the end of Act Two because the filmer was trying to stand up. Includes curtain call, audio is fed from external source.

Bette Midler One Night Only
Bette Midler stars for one night only in her first UK television special, with reminiscences, gossipy stories, trademark jokes and classic songs - including Wind Beneath My Wings.
For five decades the woman they call The Divine Miss M has forged a path which has taken her from a pineapple canning factory in Honolulu to becoming a Hollywood legend. Alan Yentob joins Bette Midler on a journey through the chorus lines of Broadway, the bathhouses and nightclubs of the 1970s, to the very top of the film industry. Her combination of a soulful voice and the raucous wit of Mae West has made her name as an outrageous, but always captivating, all-round entertainer.

Bette - The Complete Series ~ 2000-2001 ~ CBS ~ Bette Midler, Kevin Dunn, Robert Hayes, Lindsay Lohan, Joanna Gleason, James Dreyfus
Contains all 18 episodes* of Bette Midler's short-lived sitcom on CBS.
Each DVD complete with Menu / Episode Selection and the series is shown in its widescreen format of 1.78:1.
Bette premiered on October 11, 2000. Bette Midler plays herself - a divine celebrity who is adored by her fans. Although she is a celebrity, her family is often ashamed of her - Bette is constantly on diets and far away in dreams - she is everything but a perfect celebrity. Although her life is a mess, she loves it
There were several similarities to Midler's actual career throughout the show's run, as the character of Bette had - and directly performed - many of the real-life Midler's past hit songs and achievements.
The core of the stories focused on Bette's personal life in her luxurious Los Angeles home. Her husband of nearly 20 years, Roy ( Kevin Dunn , eps. 1-12; Robert Hays , eps. 16-1 was an earnest college history professor, and their 13-year-old daughter, Rose ( Lindsay Lohan , pilot episode; Marina Malota , eps. 2-1 was bright, active, and not the least bit fazed by her mother's celebrity.
Embarking with Bette on her long, wild journey around showbiz was her hardworking best friend and manager, Connie Randolph ( Joanna Gleason ). Refined Englishman Oscar ( James Dreyfus ) was Bette's veteran musical director/accompanist, who had an obsession with tabloid media and was always on the lookout for new, strange exploitations of Bette.
.
A "one-season wonder", 16 episodes were aired on CBS, with its final telecast on March 7, 2001
*In total, 18 episodes were produced, with the final two broadcast on HDTV, simulcasting and in foreign markets. Bette was created by Jeffrey Lane , with Midler serving as one of the executive producers.
For the first time, this DVD set contains all 18 episodes.
Many of Midler's celebrity friends appeared as themselves during the show's short run.
Guest stars included: Danny DeVito, George Segal, Lily Tomlin, Richard Harris, Brenda Song, Sharon Lawrence, Tim Curry, David James Elliott, Oprah Winfrey, Ashley Tisdale, John Michael Higgins, Tony Danza, Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John, Jon Lovitz, Stephanie Faracy, Fred Willard, Wendie Jo Sperber, Josh Zuckerman, Matt McKenzie, Christine Dunford, and the ladies from ABC's "The View" Joy Baher, Star Jones, Lisa Ling, Meredith Vieira , all as themselves.

Episode One ~ ‘Pilot’
When Bette starts feeling old, she goes all-out to rejuvenate herself -- by singing Kid Rock songs and consulting with a plastic surgeon. Episode Two ~ ‘And the Winner Is’
Bette wins an Emmy for her guest appearance on JAG but she forgets to thank Roy in her acceptance speech. Episode Three ~ ‘Halloween’
With Special Guest: Dolly Parton
Bette wants to go trick-or-treating with Rose, who is less than thrilled about going out for Halloween with her mother. After wrecking the set of Dolly Parton's TV special, which she's guest starring in, Bette steals one of Dolly's outfits and drags Rose out for Halloween. But when Bette's usual antics go too far, she winds up getting Dolly arrested. Bette and Dolly Parton perform a song from Bette's CD, Bette, entitled "Moses," as well as the songs "Shining Star" and " Islands in the Stream.

After firing her record producer, Bette is under pressure to record her new single. She agrees to give Oscar a shot at producing, but easily distracted Bette demands changes to the sound, ignoring Oscar's planned simplistic arrangement of the song. Episode Nine ~ ‘Or Not To Be’
When Bette finds out that Tim Curry is in town doing a stage production of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," she pushes her way into the production, playing the part of his mother, Gertrude. Oscar can't stand Mr. Curry, due to an encounter he thinks he had with the actor while he was a cater-waiter in London, but agrees to help Bette learn her lines. Bette, however, is disinterested in learning the part and proceeds to ruin the rehearsals, forgetting her lines, letting her cell phone go off, and finally (accidentally) punching Tim in the crotch. So Tim suggests they move her character's death into the prologue -- and Bette obliges, working out a catchy production number with The Harlettes.
Episode Ten ~ ‘Diva, Interrupted’
Bette fails to make People magazine's list of "The 50 Hottest People In Hollywood" and realizes she needs to come up with a clever career gimmick. A high-powered, trendy publicist concocts a great idea - Bette will have a nervous breakdown and a quick recovery. The recovery; however, does not go as planned, and soon everyone believes that Bette really is mentally unstable.
Meanwhile, Oscar and Connie come to the realization that they have the exact same taste in men.
Starring:
Bette Midler
James Dreyfus
Joanna Gleason
Episode Eleven ~ ‘True Story’

Guest Star: Tony Danza
Episode Thirteen ~ ‘Big Business’
Bette sets out to help Rose with a report on women in business by designing her own clothing line and selling it on QVC.
Episode Fourteen ~ ‘The Invisible Mom’

Olivia spends the day avoiding Bette, since (unknown to Bette) Olivia's held a grudge ever since Bette locked her up while she was supposed to be at an audition for " Grease ." After fending off the head of the school, who's trying to solicit a screenplay, Bette notices that Rose got her belly-button pierced, much to her mother's dismay. Meanwhile, Connie shows up to get some promotional CDs autographed and winds up spending the day in the girls' bathroom doling out advice to the adolescents.
Episode Fifteen ~ ‘Polterguest’
Jon Lovitz shows up at Bette's front door and announces that he is her new next-door neighbor. Unfortunately, his new home is being remodeled and he needs a place to stay for a few days. Bette suggests a hotel, but the manipulative Lovitz succeeds in worming his way into her house---and into her life. Not only is he conniving, he's rude and demanding as well, and goes on to tell Bette that her house is "spiritually toxic" and its evil vibes are the reason her movie career is in the toilet. As crazy as it sounds, Bette believes him and considers selling her house.
Episode Sixteen ~ ‘A Brand New Roy’
Roy and Bette's plans for a romantic evening are ruined by, well, everyone. So Roy decides to whisk his wife away for an evening in Paris - but flight delays cause them to be stuck at the airport with an assortment of weirdoes who they were supposed to share the flight with.

Interesting to see the show with Leah Hocking in the role of Mrs. Wilkinson-she has a different interpretation, which is very good. Well filmed. One head occasionally in the shot, but filmer does a good job dealing with it. The camera had a broken pixel, so there is a small blue spot on the bottom center of the screen, but it’s not too distracting. Crystal clear. Blithe Spirit - Hallmark Hall of Fame TV Production (1966) ~ Dirk Bogard, Rosemary Harris, Rachel Roberts and Ruth Gordon
Season 16, Episode 2
The 1966 television production of ' Blithe Spirit ' suffers in comparison to David Lean's film version, but on its own merits it's an enjoyable drawing-room comedy with a supernatural theme.
Starring: Dirk Bogard , Rosemary Harris , Rachel Roberts, and Ruth Gordon star in this new telling of “ Blithe Spirit ” as presented only on Hallmark Hall of Fame .
In this TV production, Dirk Bogarde stars as Charles Condomine, a successful novelist now married to sensible Ruth following the death of his headstrong and eccentric first wife Elvira. Charles has no truck with any supernatural nonsense, but he's currently working on a novel that has supernatural themes. Accordingly, he's decided to engage a medium to hold a séance in his drawing-room ... strictly as research for his novel, of course.

Bright Lights: Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher aired on HBO. Directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Fisher Stevens and Alexis Bloom — the two are also a couple, with two children, in real life — the documentary, which captures the unique relationship between Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds, debuted in May at the Cannes Film Festival. After a tour of the festival circuit, it had originally been scheduled to air on HBO in March, but the cable service moved up the air date following the deaths of Fisher and Reynolds.
The film was quite literally a labor of love — it began with Fisher remarking that someone should film her mother’s determination to keep performing. Sheila Nevins, president of HBO Documentary Films, describes how HBO, which had earlier filmed Fisher’s one-woman play Wishful Drinking, entered the project, while Bloom and Stevens, often still referring to the film's subjects in the present tense, recount what it was like to follow Fisher and Reynolds with their cameras.

The annual celebration, where men sing songs originally written for women and vice versa offering this audience the chance to see LGBT stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, set a new fundraising record. Broadway Bares XXI: Masterpiece
6/19/11 ~ New York
Broadway Bares XXI: Masterpiece delivered as none others have in the past, raising $1,103,072, the highest total raised by any previous edition of Bares. The first Broadway Bares, in 1992, featured seven dancers stripping on a bar and raised more than $8,000. To date, the 21 editions of Broadway Bares have raised more than $8.6 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. From a feisty opening number setting Masterpiece in motion to the roof-raising finale that got everyone dancing, the gallery of fine art that came to life during two sold-out shows June 19 at Roseland Ballroom delivered something for everyone. There was a bit of American history and African tribal magic, some twists on Surrealism and a few turns at the Impressionists. And, of course, a whole lot of glittery toned and tempting physiques. Broadway Bares, created by Jerry Mitchell, who serves as executive producer, is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, led by producing director Michael Graziano. This year’s edition was conceived by director Josh Rhodes and associate director Lee Wilkins. The 2011 incarnation of Broadway Bares was a star-studded event, start to finish. Tony winner Beth Leavel (Baby It's You) kicked off the night with an original number, "Going, Going, Gone," written by Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar, and Tony nominee Patina Miller (Sister Act) wrapped up the evening performing “The Final Masterpiece.” The evening’s other famous faces included Tony nominees Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon) and Judith Light (Lombardi), Emmy winner Jim Parsons (The Normal Heart), Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce (La Béte) and Tony nominee Christopher Sieber (La Cage aux Folles). Final Broadway performance; act one has a few issues,
but act two is much better. Tiger Rag, The Hot Dog Song,
and the first scene in Olive's apartment are all blacked out,
totaling about 10 minutes in act one, but the rest of the show
is complete; some heads blocking the center and sides of
the stage in act one; they are worked around when possible,
but the right side is completely obscured several times.
Act two is nearly perfect with no blackouts and just some
small heads at the bottom that don't block anything.
Includes curtain call, Zach's farewell speech; good video
that gets better as it goes on; clear picture and good sound 2 DVDs

But I’m A Cheerleader: The Musical, Workshop
12/6/13 ~ London
Hannah Waddingham, Bronté Barbé, Maria Coyne, Andy Conaghan, Emma Bateman, Adrian Hansel, Shaun Rennie, Philip Labey, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Ian Knauer. Referred to as an “exploratory reading” by director Jerry Mitchell during his introduction, this is the London presentation of the workshop, which had a sold-out run at the New York Musical Festival in 2005 (before Mitchell became involved). Featuring book and lyrics by Bill Augustin and music by Andrew Abrams, the musical is based on the cult 1999 motion picture of the same name. The work tells the story of Megan, an all-American high school cheerleader who seems to have it all; she's popular, pretty, intelligent, has a football player boyfriend and lives the perfect high school life. But that's all about to change. Her friends and family suspect Megan is a lesbian, and after staging an intervention, send her packing to the "True Directions" rehabilitation camp to put her on the straight and narrow. Here, under the strict tutelage of headmistress Mary Brown, Megan meets Graham, a sexy tomboy who shows her exactly what her "true direction" is. Filmed using one camera on a tripod.
